I am a Pinterest lover! I have way to many boards and to many pins and am always looking for more. One of the pins that I have is dry brushing. I know it sounds weird! I get so many funny looks when I tell people that I have started. I even have one guy ask me if I was painting myself! haha. Dry brushing is just taking a dry brush and brushing your skin. Its a really simple task that has some great benefits!
Dry brushing helps to:
Exfoliate your skin which leaves it nice and smooth (don't forget that after you exfoliate any part of your body no matter if its your body or face you want to moisturize. I will be honest that I am really bad about this and need to get better at it. Not having enough moisturize is one of the leading cause of wrinkles so using a daily moisturizer and drinking the recommended servings of water are key). Helps with cellulite breaking up those fat deposits, and it helps the lymphatic system also known as our immune system.
Just to give a little information about the lymphatic system and what dry brushing does for it, your lymph nodes produce whats called lymph for the body. You know when you cut yourself or you pop a pimp on your face that clear stuff that overs the wound? That your lymph! and dry brushing helps to move that all around the body.
My brush I bought for $5 at target. It is the hand held piece that you need plus it has a long handle you can use to get your back! :)
Dry brushing is really simple all you have to do it start at your feet and using long strokes brush up towards your heart. Some people like to do small circles moving towards that heart but I found that the long pulls were soothing and I liked them better. Also there isn't any special number of times you need to brush, I just brush until my feel skins good and its normally 2 or 3 passes over one spot. Remember trust your gut with this its really simple just make sure your using a good boar brush and that your going toward your heart.
